The O+12 Method was developed by an ordinary woman from Australia – not a doctor, scientist or astrologer. Kynzi is a mom of 6 boys and she desperately wanted a baby girl.. This method is interesting because not only does it work, but it completely contradicts the Shettles Method that’s so famous.
Kynzi was actively trying for a baby girl from her second child (first was a boy), and took a neighbors advice to have frequent sex until three days before ovulation (as recommended by the Shettles Method). To her disappointment she conceived another a boy.
She then tried for her third baby, this time once again perfectly timing intercourse to stop three days before ovulation, feeling that timing was the most important factor, and once again delivered a boy.
Frustrated and determined to conceive a baby girl, she charted her Basal Body Temperature (BBT) over a year to determine her ovulation precisely, followed the baby girl diet, took calcium supplements, stopped having sex four days before ovulation and even used a vinegar douche (increasing the acidity of the cervical mucus which is beneficial to girl producing sperm).
Although she was told "girl" at the ultrasound, the result was a boy!
Determined to master the Shettles method, Kynzi continued the girl diet, and conceived nearly five days before ovulation. Yes, you guessed it, another boy was born...
After a friend's daughter was conceived with a 2-day cutoff, Kynzi thought that maybe they were trying too early, and timed intercourse 2 days before ovulation. It didn`t work. Kynzi and her husband took home their SIXTH son!
Kynzi had now conceived boys 2, 3, 4, and 5 days before ovulation and at this point, decided it was time to quit. On a trip to her doctor to arrange getting her tubes tied after her sixth boy defeated her resolve to keep trying for a boy, she was shocked when a nurse told her that the Shettles success rate was only 50% in reality. Instead they sat together and examined a New Zealand study that entirely disproved the Shettles theory and they spotted a trend that no one else had: Of all the days around ovulation the only day on which minimal boys were conceived was the day following ovulation!
Rather than having her tubes tied Kynzi ran home to give it one more go.By now, she was an expert at determining when she ovulated, after years of charting, plus ultrasounds and blood tests. She decided to time intercourse 12 hours after all signs of ovulation had abated. She also convinced her husband to abstain from any ejaculation for the entire cycle until this point.
The big day arrived and despite Kynzi and her husband being interrupted mid way through their intercourse by one of their boys, and despite the whole family immediately catching a stomach bug shortly afterwards, Kynzi soon found out that she was pregnant :). And she knew that that one interrupted intercourse was the only one, and her husband had not even completed the act.
You can only imagine her joy when she have birth to a beautiful, healthy baby girl!
Although this method initiated as advice that she gave to friends and family hoping for girls (all of whom were 100% successful!) it was soon a method that took the world by storm. Of the first 41 people to follow this method, 37 girls and 4 boys were born – making the O+12 method 90% successful!
Kinzy´s story makes me wanna cry. I have two boys and I really hope to have a little girl to complete our family :).
