Whelan method

This is another method that provides directions on how to select the sex of your baby. Whelan believes that your chances for conceiving a baby girl is much better when it is done as close to ovulation so is basically the exact opposite of the Shettles method.
The idea of this method is based on timing of intercourse. You should have sex 4-6 days before ovulation if you want to have a boy, and 2-3 days before ovulation for a girl. You can chart your BBT and use ovulation kits to determinate when you ovulate. Trying different positions may also raise the accuracy. Dr. Whealn recommends that your diet should be high in calcium and magnesium but low in salt and potassium if you want to conceive a girl.
The Whelan method is about 68% accurate for conceiving boys, and 57% accurate for baby girls.
Although not as popular as the Shettles method, both have about the same rate of accuracy.

Critics of her method say that her recommended times of having intercourse before ovulation is too far
away to even get pregnant. However, there are many people that say that this method worked for them.

  1. Shettels vs Whelan method? Which one to choose? I think is best to do the opposite of what you did the last time (if you know when did you conceived you first child). Both of my boys are conceived 1 day BEFORE ovulation so I am thinking none of these methods are not for me. I will try O+12 method to conceive a girl. Please, send a little of pink baby dust :)!
